In common with all previous versions, the 3rd pattern Tropical Combat Trousers were made from OG-107 wind-resistant cotton poplin and boasted cargo pocket leg ties and leg bottom drawstrings. However, a number of changes were made to the basic design:
- No gas flap behind the button fly
- Waistband button tabs replaced by adjustable straps that allow the waist size to be adjusted by 4 inches, rather than just 2 inches
- Stitched knee pleats, to allow better flexing
- Vertical seam above the back pockets
